From 3 days to 1 hour: infrastructure as code to scale operations in the US.

DOMVS iT transformed a manually built AWS environment into a replicable architecture using Terraform, reducing provisioning time by 95% and enabling expansion for a strategic client in the U.S. market.

Terraform
as an Infrastructure as Code base with traceability

The transformation wasn't just technical. We restructured how the environment is created, versioned, and replicated so that Phelcom could grow without relying on manual processes.

Diagnosis and mapping of the environment

Before writing a single line of code, we mapped the entire existing AWS environment: networks, permissions, services, and dependencies. This assessment revealed the risk points and defined the safe migration order.

Infrastructure as Code with Terraform

We converted each resource into reusable Terraform modules, featuring standardized naming, environment-specific variables, and versioned state. What used to be manually replicated in 3 days is now consistently provisioned in about 1 hour.

Security and compliance by default

We apply the international requirements demanded by the end client: private networks, closing unnecessary ports, and migration to official SDKs. Since everything became code, every change has become traceable and auditable.

Context

Phelcom needed to replicate its technological environment within the AWS account of a strategic customer in the United States. The project required adherence to the security standards defined by the customer and the ability to reproduce the infrastructure quickly, without relying on manual reconstruction for each new need.

Challenge

The original environment had been created manually, which made replication slow and increased the risk of configuration drift. Each new reproduction could take up to 3 days and required adjustments to meet requirements such as private networks, port closing, and the adoption of official SDKs. The model could not keep up with the speed required for the new operation.

Solution

DOMVS iT migrated its infrastructure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. The architecture is now described in code, enabling version control and standardized provisioning. Security requirements were also incorporated into the new structure so that each replication would be created in compliance with the standard required by the client from the outset. As a result, the environment no longer relies on manual rebuilds and can now be reproduced consistently.

Result

What changed for the business

An infrastructure ready to be replicated at scale.

The time required to provision a new environment dropped from up to 3 days to approximately 1 hour—a reduction of 95%. In addition to speed, Phelcom now has a traceable and reproducible infrastructure, ready to meet new demands without having to repeat the technical effort of the original project. Compliance with security requirements was approved by the end customer, allowing the business opportunity to move forward in the U.S. market.

  • On-demand replication. New environments can be provisioned from the same infrastructure definition.
  • Less manual configuration dependency. Terraform reduces environmental drift and makes changes traceable.
  • Expansion enabled. The new structure met the necessary requirements to support the operation with the client in the United States.
With the environment described as code, we no longer depend on individual knowledge: any replica is born identical, secure, and to the same standard.
